SUBURBAN SOPHISTICATION

The first step for any project is understanding your client – who they are, how they like to live and what they enjoy doing. For this total renovation of a Summit, NJ traditional Brick Colonial, we needed to create a polished look that could accommodate a busy family with three young children. The most important criteria for the renovation of the living room, dining room and family room was to create easy to maintain, comfortable living spaces.

In the family room, we maximized the seating area with a custom designed sectional sofa. It is perfect for family movie nights, watching sporting events with friends or stretching out to read a good book. The traditional floor plan in this home allows for separation of spaces but with a consistent color palette, the design creates coordination between each room.

The seamless transition into the home office is a perfect way to keep the family connected while still allowing for privacy for work or play.

For more formal entertaining but still keeping the casual intent, the living room is comfortable and understated. We made this space unique with the custom designed woodworking including the crown and base moldings. The classic design aesthetic allows this room to stand the test of time.

Our final step in each home is to personalize the spaces with important, handcrafted bespoke accessories from objects to decorate shelves to the intentionally selected coffee table books that reflect the homeowners’ interests.
